The Florida Keys - Where we Sink

The Florida Keys... A place for lovers... Lovers of all things...

You love your drink? Check.
You love your nature? Check.
You love old dilapidated bridges? Check.
Music? Beaches? The sun? The rain? Actual, real-life, stars?

The Florida Keys have always been a massive source of inspiration to me. I've spent many days lost on some random trail, cautiously stepping over eroded limestone and old roads, to get to a vista where I can gaze out amongst the vastness of Florida Bay or the Atlantic. I've holed myself up in hotel rooms while storms raged tirelessly overhead, while sopping up with starch-hardened towels, encroaching water that creeps through the cracks of a 90 dollar-a-night balcony. I've sat at the ends of rickety docks, soaking my feet in the pulsating tides, unable to see where the star-speckled sky ceases, and the mysterious depths begin.

I love the Florida Keys. Conveniently, it's where the story of my upcoming EP begins: A lonely night, fueled by a cheap six-pack, and a beaten six-string.

Where we sink

Lines, horizon lines
The sky feeds itself
To a sea where shadows represent cities
And the light represents barrens

As someone who says they're a loner, you're not alone
Your company cannot speak the way you speak
So you make them out to be cold

Reversal, taboo to think
That heaven is under the sea
And the sky is where we sink

As someone who say they're a loner, you're not alone
Your company cannot speak the way you speak
So you make them out to be cold

Just pour the drink
Just pour the drink
Don't say I'm flying solo
Just pour the drink
Just pour my goddamn drink
Don't say I'm flying solo

Your company cannot speak the way you speak
So you make them out to be...
